Empowering Coaches for the Next Generation of ProFuturo Digital Learning
ProFuturo Tanzania is embracing a new chapter in digital learning. Following major platform improvements in 2025, six coaches from Don Bosco and Save the Children Tanzania gathered in April 2026 for a six-day training on the new Moodle-based ProFuturo Offline Platform. The training focused on the transition from Ebro V3 to the new platform, equipping coaches with the skills to support schools, teachers and students throughout the migration and implementation process.
In 2025, the ProFuturo digital learning platform underwent major changes designed to simplify its functionality and interface while making the learning experience more accessible, engaging and enjoyable for both teachers and students. As part of this transformation, ProFuturo introduced a new Moodle-based platform, ProFuturo Offline, replacing the previous Ebro V3 platform.
To support this transition, in April 2026, six ProFuturo coaches, four from Salesians Don Bosco Tanzania and two from Save the Children Tanzania, came together for a six-day training focused on the new platform and the migration process.
The training was not only about learning how to use the new platform, but also about preparing the coaches to successfully guide schools through the transition. A key component was the migration from Ebro V3 to the newly developed Moodle-based ProFuturo Offline platform. Coaches explored the migration process, practiced using the new system and strengthened their capacity to support teachers and schools during implementation.
The sessions combined technical learning, hands-on practice and teamwork. Coaches worked directly with laptops and the platform, gaining practical experience that they could later transfer to the schools they support. The training also created an opportunity for participants from different implementing organisations to learn from one another and share experiences.
This transition represents more than a change of technology. It is an important step towards creating a simpler, more practical and teacher-friendly digital learning environment, while strengthening the capacity of coaches to accompany schools in making effective use of digital education.
With the coaches equipped with the knowledge and skills required to work with the new platform, the focus now moves from migration to application, ensuring that the new ProFuturo Offline platform translates into meaningful learning experiences in classrooms and greater opportunities for teachers and students.
