COE Partners Align Priorities for the Second Year of Collaboration

COE partners convened for a two-day strategic meeting to align priorities, agree on key action points, and shape the second year of collaboration, with a focus on strengthening apprenticeship training and ensuring the programme’s long-term sustainability.

Assist International, Don Bosco, IACA, and a representative of the Caterpillar Foundation came together for a two-day strategic meeting to review progress and align priorities for the second year of collaboration under the Centre of Excellence (COE) programme.

The first day focused on refining a practical, industry-responsive one-year apprenticeship model designed to equip trainees with relevant technical skills and prepare them for a successful transition into employment. Discussions centred on strengthening training delivery to ensure apprentices develop the competencies needed to meet industry demands.

The second day focused on sustainability planning, with partners exploring strategies to maintain training quality, strengthen programme implementation, and create lasting opportunities for young people. The discussions also aimed to establish clear action points and a shared direction for the next phase of collaboration.

Through this continued partnership, the organisations are working towards a sustainable Centre of Excellence model that bridges the gap between skills development and employment, empowering young people to build brighter futures.
