Empowering Tanzanian Youth through Enhanced Technical Training at Don Bosco KIITEC, Arusha, Tanzania Project

 

Project Summary:

The empowering Tanzanian Youth through enhanced Technical Training project at KIITEC is a project designed to enhance DB KIITEC’s vision of becoming a center of Excellence. The project primarily focuses on i) enhancing infrastructure and equipment by developing the first phase of the construction (developing architectural and structural designs, expansion of the solar system, renewal and modernization of tools and Equipment, ii) capacity building which entails the Training of teachers and Peer exchanges with DB Ghana as well as iii) Promoting Innovation by the establishment of an innovation lab to provide space and support for the development of innovative projects and ideas at KIITEC.

Objective 01:  To elevate the quality and relevance of TVET education at Don Bosco KIITEC to meet the specified standards and industry requirements.

Objective 02: To enhance access and equity in STEM-focused TVET provision for marginalized and underprivileged youth and admission numbers at DB KIITEC.

Objective 03: To nurture entrepreneurship and innovation skills in trainees at DB KIITEC

Objective 04: To enhance and fortify the financial sustainability of Don Bosco KIITEC

Current Status:

As of July 2024, the project has entered its 7th month of its implementation. The planned activities for the remaining portion of the project implementation entail a mini-grid expansion, a Peer-to-peer exchange with Ghana, Teacher training, and the establishment of an innovation hub.
